Dissertation update and banksy

I've spent most of my time reading for my dissertation over summer. which i've actually kind of enjoyed. Although i haven't really got any primary examples of research (currently e-mailing selfridges on barbara kruger) i feel that i have progressed and clarified more so what my dissertation will be about.

Last week i drove down to bristol for the day hoping to get to look at the Banksy exhibit which could have helped me with my dissertation however i arrived just too late and with a 4 hour queue which had stopped people queuing as it would have closed in 4 hours. So i didn't want to waste the journey so i looked round for some of his work and others.

Logo Design

I started designing some logos for a friend and which he wants to use i don't know yet. But it made me realize that if i want to do brand design i need to practice producing logos and dealing with type more than i am currently.

Puma

I started going through the other briefs sent to us earlier in the year. I started on the puma brief and for this i tried to utilize my drawing skills more and spend more time on them. I'm happy i've improved on those skills to a standard im ok with.

Photo Retouching

I've recently stumbled across a photo retouching company known as saddington & baynes who've recently done the imagery for the Lucozade ad. Much of the work i find quite intriguing as their website shows what the original photos were that they used and how they obtained the finish quality.
